A Piper Cherokee aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing Sunday near Double Eagle Airport.A spokesperson for Albuquerque Fire Rescue says the plane experienced a loss of engine power shortly after takeoff. The plane eventually landed in a field about a half mile south of Double Eagle Airport.There were two people on board the plane when the incident occurred. No one was injured. The plane did appear to have a minimal amount of damage.An investigation is underway to determine what caused the plane to lose power.
