NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Recreation can come in a variety of different forms, from enjoying time outdoors at a neighborhood park to watching a movie at a theater or visiting a coffee shop. A recent study from WalletHub analyzed 100 cities across the country and ranked the best and worst cities for recreation in 2024.
WalletHub looked at 47 different metrics to rank the cities including availability of recreational facilities, cost of recreational facilities, quality of parks and weather.
Albuquerque was the only city in New Mexico to rank on the list, coming in at number 38 overall on the top 100 cities for recreation. Albuquerque ranked 45 in availability of recreational facilities, 68th in cost of recreational facilities, 24 in quality of parks and 37 in weather.
